MapleFest 2008
MapleFest was really fun. We thoroughly enjoyed the harmonies of Bandstand Barbershop Quartet and were amazed by the sound of Clan Ross Pipe Band of Lebanon, CT. We also loved the visit of the Senior King and Queen of the MapleFest, Elsie and Frank Mozzarella. They are are 84 and 86 respectively and have been married for 66 years!
The 6-8th grade Church School class sold Maple Walnut Scones to raise money for Episcopal Relief and Development (ERD). ERD develops programs to bring food and renewable resources, along with training, to developing countries around the world. They decided to raise funds specifically for the “Nets for Life” program which educates people about the dangers of standing water and provides insecticide-treated mosquito nets. Malaria claims over one million lives per year and can be easily prevented with the use of mosquito nets.
