Opportunities for Greater Participation this Fall!

For those of you who are looking to become more involved in the life and work of St. Peter’s here are some opportunities for you to keep in mind as we move toward the fall.  If you are interested in any of these opportunities, please contact Father Perry or call the church office unless otherwise specified.

Become involved in our worship:  Are you interested in participating in the worship service at St. Peter’s? This fall we will be holding training sessions for Acolytes, Readers of Lessons and Prayers, Chalice Bearers and Ushers, as well as Lay Readers who lead worship services, such as Morning Prayer, in the absence of a priest.

Join our choir:  Both our Adult and our Youth Choir will be resuming this fall.  If you like to sing, why not consider joining one of our choirs?  For more information please contact our organist and Choir Director, Linda Spector.

Assist with our church school:  We need teachers! The curriculum is extremely user-friendly and is geared to volunteer teachers. Our plans for the coming year include a full complement of classes for all children through 8th grade, special events (such as Blessing of the Animals, All Saints’ Day Celebration and Advent activities) and Pageants – Christmas, Epiphany and Easter.

For all of this to happen we need the support of volunteers.  Please consider helping us by becoming involved in our Church School program.  Church School Registration Day is Sept. 13th and classes resume on Sept. 20. If you might consider helping out, please speak with Fr. Perry.

Join one of our other ministries:  There are many groups at St. Peter’s that would welcome your participation: Altar Guild, Outreach, Women’s Group, Men’s Group, Hospitality (including hosting a coffee hour), Special Events & Fundraisers (Fall Festival, Christmas Fair, and Community Dinners, to name a few). Please speak to Father Perry or a member of a ministry about how you might become involved.

Memorial Garden Committee: We are forming a committee to oversee the ongoing development of the Memorial Garden and to establish guidelines and procedures for the interment of ashes, financial requirements and individual memorials. The committee will begin its deliberations this fall.  If you would be interested in participating, please speak with Father Perry.

PARISH LIFE

We are an open, inclusive and welcoming community. We support each other and pray for each other in good times and bad.  We’re committed to helping those in need around the world.  We have a lot of fun!  We are an active and participatory church.  The church budget is supported exclusively by the giving of its members, and all of our activities are organized and run by church members.  We believe that this is a great way to build a true sense of community.
